Type One Diabetes comes on suddenly and severely. Its progression can be days to a week. It can be so fast and dramatic you may not know what hit you as often Type One can appear through an illness such as a cold, virus or injury. So while you are thinking your treating one thing, something dramatically different is happening and without proper medical treatment can lead to a coma or death.
Symptoms of Type One Diabetes include:
• Extreme thirst that is unquenchable
• Frequent urination
• Weight loss, which can be dramatic and accompany no signs of loss of appetite.
• Vomiting
• Young children may begin bed wetting
• Fatigue and weakness
If these symptoms of type of Diabetes are left untreated the sugar and keytone buildup in the blood can cause severe weakness, confusion, hallucinations, coma and even death.
